Battle of the Donuts

Battle of Donuts: Everglazed vs Voodoo

Ladies and Gentlemen tonight we have the two heavy weights in the donut industry going head to head… In this corner we have Everglazed Donuts located at Disney Springs. In the other corner we have Voodoo Donuts located in Universal Studios City Walk.  LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE for Everglazed vs Voodoo Donuts!

My family did the very tough job of trying donuts from Everglazed and than trying donuts from Voodoo Donuts. Let me state this right now, my family takes their donuts very seriously. So let’s start!

Everglazed Donuts at Disney Springs

Everglazed, newly opened in January this year. They are located in Disney Springs by AMC theaters. Although it sometimes has some lines, I will say it is incredibly worth it!  We tried 6 donuts: Maple Double Bacon, Peanut Butter Explosion, Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon French Toast, Mounds Coconut, and Nutella. Our favorites were Peanut Butter and Maple Double Baon by far. I will say that the donuts were filled to the brim with topping on the donuts, were fresh and amazing! The inside resembles a modern coffee shop. Do not make our mistake though, if they have cereal on the top make sure to eat it that night, as they will get soggy. We got a ½ dozen and each donut was $5.50 each, great for breakfast or a snack!

Voodoo Donuts at Universal Studios Citywalk

Voodoo Donuts is located in Universal Studios Citywalk which is located right outside the parks.  Very popular first thing in the morning for a quick bite before the parks open, I suggest going in the afternoon too to pick up for the next morning! Voodoo donut has an amazing inside, pink loud and filled with donuts! They have a very large adorable chair outside for a great photo opportunity too! We ordered 6 donuts from here too: Bacon Maple, Dirt, Maple Cream, Chuckles, No Name, and Voodoo Doll. Their staple is the Voodoo Doll, chocolate icing with a pretzel stick through the heart, and as my son said red “blood” jelly filled. Our favorites were the Voodoo Doll, of course, and Dirt. I will say some of these donuts were great, decorated wonderfully , and some like No Name and Bacon Maple were a miss, and felt they could have done more.

Winner!

My family held a very stressful voting of Everglazed vs Voodoo Donuts and narrowly  Everglazed won! We all agreed that the out of the Bacon donuts, Everglazed was by far the best. Voodoo Doll came in second though, we love that donut! Overall, the toppings and flavors we felt the Everglazed was better, it was close though!
