Ok, let’s be honest here. We have been through a tough 2020. But we’ve made it to the other side and we should realize that some things have changed, especially in Disney. Some changes have been small and some have been pretty big! Character meals, buffets and dining in Walt Disney World has changed A LOT. Take a look at changes to dining at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Breakfast Changes
Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine is on hold. But that doesn’t mean you can’t see the loveable characters who used to be there. Vampirina and Doc McStuffins will now be found driving their hot rods in a Hollywood Studios cavalcade. I am hoping the character breakfast returns as this was a great breakfast option in Hollywood Studios. While we are waiting for breakfast to return though, we can enjoy lunch or dinner at Hollywood & Vine with some of our favorite characters.
New Dining Experience
Minnie’s Silver Screen Dine began in January and will be changing over to a springtime theme sometime in March. Although dining at Hollywood & Vine used to be a buffet style restaurant, Minnie’s Silver Screen is currently a table service restaurant offering a 3-course meal. Your meal includes salad or soup, choice of entrée and dessert. I had the prime rib, and it was unbelievably delicious. Now I know we all love a buffet, but I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this sit-down meal (and let’s face it-it is better for my waist). The children’s menu has great offerings, as well—including chicken nuggets and corn dog nuggets. And lest we forget the heroes of our vacation- they offer a nice specialty drink menu for the grownups. Adult meals run $55.00 and child meals are $35.00.
Characters are STILL Here
Now for the stars of the show: Minnie, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto. I almost cried when they came out. It had been a long year without seeing my pal, Mickey. Each Character came out and kept a good social distance from each table, allowing for some great selfie opportunities for the guests. Let’s admit it, we do not go to these character meals because we love prime rib! We go to get our fix of our favorite friends. We go because we love the smiles on our kids face when they see their favorite character. We go because WE LOVE MINNIE and MICKEY! It is a little sad that we cannot get hugs, but kisses blown through plexiglass are good enough right now. So, for now, a selfie will take the place of a posed picture. A wave and a heart made from Mickey hands will suffice as a magic moment. And we are thankful for the character meals – the smiles and, yes, even the changes, because we are able to see our PALS. I highly recommend dining at Hollywood & Vine; not just because the food was particularly good, but because, even with all the changes, the experience was totally worth it.
