If you are like me, you are always searching for unique adventures while on vacation, but you do not want those adventures to break the bank. Cue the music because I have found a fun adult adventure at Walt Disney World. While on my latest Walt Disney World vacation, I decided to try Sangria University at the Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago located in Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
The Sangria University is about 45 minutes in duration and includes four samples of house-made sangria, an appetizer, and your final piece de resistance: your sangria creation.
You arrive to your private and beautifully set table. The sangria sommelier teaches the history of sangria and the secrets to delicious pairings. After you sample each sangria base, you will prepare your sangria with different types of alcohol, fruits and even a cinnamon stick.
I chose a white bubbly wine base mixed with triple sec and other types of juice and fruit. The cost for the class is $45.00 per person plus tip for the teacher. You do not have to tip but gratuities are always recommended. The value of this class far outweighs the price.
At the end of the class, each student receives a Sangria U diploma with their name on it, the recipe cards for the sangria served at Villa del Lago and a cute selfie opportunity.
This is an enjoyable, relaxing activity. Classes are held on Saturday and Sunday. Your travel planner can arrange them for you. The Three
Bridges Bar and Grill and Villa del Lago is beautiful and worth visiting.
After Sangria U, we wandered around the resort. Checked out some of the beautiful
artwork in the Grand Destino Tower and did a little souvenir shopping. The Grand Destino
Tower is home to two fun places to check out Toledo -Tapas, Steak, & Seafood and the Dahlia Lounge – both boast gorgeous views and fantastic fare.
