Satu’li Canteen: A Review

When looking for dining options on Pandora, the World of Avatar, you do not have to look too far.  Nestled on Pandora, you will find the former RDA Mess Hall, now serving Alpha Centauri Expeditions.  The Na’vi call it Satu’li Canteen.  This serves as the main dining location on Pandora.  The interior has been taken over by the art of Na’vi, making Satu’li Canteen a beautiful place to explore and dine.

The Location

This restaurant, a Counter Service (or Quick Service) restaurant, is a real gem among the many good dining options in Walt Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It is located toward the back area of Pandora in the World of Avatar.  Satu’li is a unique destination because they offer healthier options and unique fare. It is not the typical theme park food.

The Food

Disney' Pandora Menu

Satu’li Canteen’s signature dish is the create your own Satu’li bowl.  You choose a protein, a base and a sauce. Protein choices are sliced grilled beef, chicken, shrimp, and chili spiced fried tofu.  Base choices are rice and beans, sweet potato hash, noodles and salad.  And finally, sauce options include charred green onion, black bean vinaigrette or creamy herb.

I ordered the Slow Roasted Grilled Beef Bowl, with noodles and charred green onion sauce. My husband ordered the same meal with a different sauce.

There were other items of note on the menu as well. If you have a hankering for a cheeseburger, you are in luck! They have the most unique cheeseburger option in the parks: the Cheeseburger Steamed Pods-Bao Buns with Chips.

It’s also important to note that Satu’li Canteen offers Vegan Friendly options, child friendly choices and a variety of allergy friendly menu items as well.  Specialty Cocktails and Scrumptious Desserts are also featured. For the full menu click here.

"A Beautiful Place to Explore & Dine"

The food at Sat’uli Canteen is served on real dishes, with real utensils which is very impressive for a quick service restaurant. This makes the entire experience feel upscale. It also adds to the backstory.  The Na’vi are very environmentally conscious, and this value is carried through with non-disposable utensils and recycled art and decor.

Bottom Line: IT WAS DELICIOUS!!  This Chicken Nugget lovin’ lady approves of this lunch.  My husband absolutely enjoyed his meal as well.  We could not believe we had never eaten here before this trip.

We did not have a chance to try the Cheeseburger Steamed Pods (although we did see many people enjoying them around us), so we are saving that for our next trip.  Satu’li Canteen is a beautiful place to explore and dine.  Check out my other Disney restaurant reviews as well!  What is your favorite thing to eat at the Sat’uli Canteen?  Please share your experiences with me in the comments.
