Space 220: Our Review

Welcome, Mousekemom Friends! Join us on a journey that’s out of this world, as we take you with us through our time at Space 220.

This restaurant has limited, but coveted reservation slots, and we were lucky to snag a reservation!

Mousekemom Tip

If you miss getting a reservation as soon as they open for your trip, keep checking back. We were able to get a reservation for 3 people at 8pm, but we only were able to get it the night before we went. Definitely worth the checking.

Space 220

I’m sure we all know about EPCOT’s massive overhaul, and Space 220 is was one of the most anticipated additions to the park. Space 220 opened in September of 2021, and has been booked up ever since! The restaurant is located right next to Mission Space in World Discovery Land at EPCOT.

The Atmosphere: It's Out of This World

This unique dining opportunity takes you up an elevator, 220 miles up into the atmosphere. You take your elevator up to a gorgeous panoramic view of the earth below. You get to see plenty of cool things out the windows surrounding you, including space junk, satellites, the Mission Space Rockets, and the occasional astronaut will drift by.

This dining experience has a prix-fixe menu, which includes a two-course lunch ($59.00) or a three-course dinner ($79.99). Despite this, the portions are very reasonably large.

Appetizers

Blue Moon Cauliflower

We were able to try a few different appetizers. These are the ones we were able to try:

Big Bang Burrata: Burrata di Mozzarella, Grilled Artichoke Hearts, Arugula, Sunflower Seed Romesco. This was delicious, and definitely recommended.

Blue Moon Cauliflower: Tempura Fried Cauliflower, Housemade Hot Sauce, Blue Cheese Dust. We loved that the blue cheese wasn’t overpowering. The hot sauce wasn’t too hot- it was Disney hot sauce for sure.

Starry Calamari: Fried Calamari, Italian Cherry Peppers, Spicy Marinara, Roasted Pepper Citrus Aioli. We love the portion sizes, however it had a lot of fried peppers with it. The peppers were definitely good though, a great pairing!

Neptune Tartare: Yellowfin Tuna, Yuzu Ginger Miso, Soy, Avocado, Radish, Mango Coulis, Micro Greens, Sesame Crackers. We enjoyed it- except, take the yuzu out of this- thanks!

Entrees

Florida Red Snapper: Pan Seared Red Snapper, Fennel Barigoule, Potato Stew. Jen and Juliana actually both ordered this- funilly enough, Julianas was perfect, and Jen’s was dry. Luckily, Jen was able to get a perfect replacement- after all, it’s $79 a person.

The Galactic Salmon: Glazed Carrots, Miatake Mushrooms, Baby Bok Choy, Ginger Beurre Blanc. It was beautiful, served in a smoked bowl. It was theatrical and so delicious.

Dessert

Carrot Cake- Credit Orlando Informer

The desserts are actually seasonal- much to Lori’s dismay. She loved the Sticky Toffee Pudding cake available in winter, but these are what we tried this last visit.

Short Cake: Matcha Air Cake, Mascarpone Mousse, Strawberries. It was fine, it was light.

Coconut Panna Cotta: Coconut Cream, Citrus, Lychee, Raspberries, Coconut Meringue, Toasted Coconut. We did not like this- panna cotta should NOT be that texture. It was far too gelatinous for us.

Carrot Cake: Carrot Cake, Cream Cheese, Candied Walnuts, Toasted Pepitas. This carrot cake is actually vegan. We didn’t have high hopes for this (no offense to our vegan readers) because its difficult to do a good vegan cream cheese. This was amazing though. The roasted pepitas gave it a great crunch- this made up for the panna cotta falling flat.

Chocolate Cheesecake: Whipped Chocolate Ganache, Chocolate Sauce, White Chocolate Crunchy Pearls, Cookie Crumbs, Dark Chocolate Shards. This was delicious, rich and so worth it. We love a little crunch in it too.

For us, we enjoyed it. The lounge for Space 220 is an a la carte style instead of prix-fixe,, so that’s definitely on our dining bucket list next. We think that you should at least try it once to see if it’s something you’d love.

After all, the atmosphere is out of this world.
