The Little Mermaid

I’ll  be the first to admit I typically avoid Disney Live-Action films.  I have seen a few which were as followed:
The Jungle Book (2016)
Cruella (2021)
Maleficent (2014) & Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)
Alice in Wonderland (2010) & Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016)

With that being said, I did want to see The Little Mermaid mainly due to specific memories I had as a child around the classic film.

Review
First off, I will say one of the most impressive parts was the cast. Specifically; Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian and Awkwafina as Scuttle. All the actors fit their little quirks into the characters and it amazed me.
As for music, I don’t want to give too much away. I will say, the original song titles were pleasant, especially “Under the Sea”. In my personal opinion, I think Halle did a nice job singing “Part of Your World”, however, it fell a bit flat for me. “Poor Unfortunate Souls” was wonderfully done by Melissa and “Kiss the Girl” was a fun touch.
I only had 2 issues with the movie which were some questionable plot lines and the movie length. The Little Mermaid sits at roughly 2 hours and 15 minutes. After awhile it starts to drag and you kind of lose interest.
Final Thoughts
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It added a modernized theme to a classic film and they threw in some random bits that gave a humorous atmosphere in certain scenes. Personally, I believe it is worth the watch!

The pictures below are a few from the movie and from around the theater!
