Top 5 Places to Grab a Beer at Walt Disney World

Erin Go Bragh! Saint Patricks day is this week, and that means we all get to pretend to be Irish, even if we aren’t. And what better way to get those Irish eyes smilin’ than with a cold pint in the Most Magical Place on Earth? Before we get into the top 5 places to grab a beer at Walt Disney World, let’s make Lori happy with some non-beer options to whet your whistle.

MousekeCocktail

For those who don’t prefer beer, we’re serving up some cocktail options to toast to the luck of the Irish. There is no shortage of specialty beverages available for a limited time this Saint Patricks Day. Now through March 31 try:

  • Irish Magic Trick – Abracadabar at Disney’s Boardwalk – Irish whiskey, Italian liqueur, and bitters.
  • Shamrock Punch – Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s Boardwalk – apple whisky, vodka, apple sour, lime sour, Granny Smith apple, and Sprite garnished with a glow cube
  • Irish Mule Cocktail – Bellevue Lounge at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn – Irish whiskey, ginger beer, and lime juice garnished with a lime.

We agree that the Irish Magic Trick sounds like more of a Juliana cocktail. And while the name “Shamrock” usually calls to mind a minty beverage, Lori is willing to let go of preconceptions and try this apple concoction. Jen will happily trade vodka for whiskey in a mule, because, well, Irish whiskey.

Where to Grab a Beer at Walt Disney World

#5 Thirsty River Bar in Animal Kingdom

We’ve talked before about Nomad Lounge, and how much we enjoy a quiet cocktail there, but frankly, the beers there are just meh.  There are lots of other places to get a frosty beverage at Animal Kingdom, but my favorite is Thirsty River Bar. It’s located right by the queue for Expedition Everest, so it’s great to grab a refreshment for while you wait, or after as your reward for conquering the Yeti. As with almost every stop at Animal Kingdom, they serve Safari Amber, but I prefer Hanalei IPA at this location. Wine and Frozen cocktails available too.

#4 Regal Eagle Smokehouse in American Adventure

While the Irish gave us Guinness, it’s the Americans who in recent years have taken the world’s beer game to a whole new level. You can find some of these delicious crafts on tap at Regal Eagle’s outdoor bar. They serve cocktails, ciders, and a good selection American drafts to go with some legit barbecue.

#3 Rose and Crown Pub in UK Pavilion

To celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day like Ireland’s neighbors to the East, head on over to Rose and Crown.  They have all of your favourite (see what I did there) British beers (plus Guinness). This is the place to go for mixed beers….a shandy or a snakebite for example…all available with souvenir cups for purchase.

Rose and Crown has a charming and friendly British Pub vibe, but if you don’t want to hang out inside, just hit up the UK beer cart. There’s always a crowd around and with good reason. The UK pavilion is just a lovely stroll for starters, but if you want to get away from the crowds, grab your beer and walk behind the building to the tables in the back on the water.

#2 Baseline Taphouse at Hollywood Studios

Baseline serves up over a dozen beers on tap, making it one of the best places to grab a beer at Walt Disney World. We love the location and relaxed atmosphere too.  It’s a great spot to stop if coming out of Galaxy’s Edge near MuppetVision. Ample outdoor seating and high tops are a good place to take a break, let the kids chill, order some good snacks, and enjoy a frosty treat.o

#1 Raglan Road in Disney Springs

Rounding out the list of the top 5 places to grab a beer at Walt Disney World is, of course, Raglan Road.

Get your green on and celebrate with a week-long festival. The Mighty Saint Patricks Festival features specialty food and drinks, giveaways, exclusive merch, and face painting. You’ll also enjoy award winning entertainers and the famous Raglan Road Irish Dancers.

This place is a good time on a random tuesday in November, I can’t imagine how much fun it is on March 17.  Be aware, though Raglan Road takes reservations every other day, seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. So get there early and bring a $20 cover for all guests over 18.

MousekeTip

You want to try all the yummy beers. We get it. But you have to be responsible. Lots of these venues offer beer flights. Consider getting these sample sizes and sharing with friends so you can taste more and actually drink less.
