Disney World Vacation Packages NOW Available for ALL of 2021

Cinderella Castle

People are waking up this morning to the exciting news that Disney is now accepting reservations for Walt Disney World vacation packages through December 2021! Why is this exciting? 2021 has been a much anticipated BIG year for Walt Disney World with the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Magic Kingdom in October 2021. Pre-Covid, there were dozens of projects in the works to open in time for this momentous occasion.  While some of these projects have been shelved, many have resumed with the re-opening of the parks back in July. During our recent trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, we saw active progress being made on attractions such as Tron in the Magic Kingdom and the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster in Epcot as well as on the Epcot overhaul of the entrance area, the walkway between the Grand Floridian and the Magic Kingdom and the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. Although Bob Chapek announced a few months back that the company was cutting $700 million in construction projects in 2020, there are still many things to get excited about in addition to the projects mentioned above. The new Epcot restaurant Space 220 which has experienced delay after delay over the course of the last year or so will surely open in time for the big celebrations in October, and the new rehaul to the France pavilion including the attraction Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has been announced that it will open in 2021. Progress is also moving forward on the new nighttime show, HarmoniUS in Epcot. And although some refurbishments (such as the one to Spaceship earth) and announced projects (such as the Mary Poppins themed attraction in the UK pavilion) have been shelved indefinitely, we can get excited to still see a major upgrade in Epcot by October of next year. The entrance overhaul, for example, is still moving forward, adding World Celebration, World Nature and World Discovery to the already existing World Showcase, including a Moana themed area. Very exciting!

Bottom line? Plans for an EXCITING celebration year are still moving forward for Disney. Most of the projects seem to have delayed completion until late 2021, but this is still in time for the big party! If you want to be a part of the magic of 50 years, it’s in your best interest to book your Walt Disney World Vacation packages early, especially for those October dates. Resorts continue to be limited with not ALL Disney resort options even showing availability or opening by October 2021. Deposit for packages is still only $200 per reservation and cancellation policies continue to be flexible. While Disney is allowing guests with 2021 reservations to purchase packages with park hopper passes, they will still be requiring park reservations and the dining plans still seem to be unavailable, so keep that in mind as well. And, as always, keep an eye on your Mousekemoms Blog for all of the updates and changes as we move closer to 2021. And be sure to contact Kingdom and Cruise Travel for all your planning needs.
