If you are Disney-philes like we are, then you’ve undoubtedly heard the major announcements out of The Walt Disney Travel Company. 2024 Walt Disney World packages will be available to book on May 31, 2023. What does that mean for you?
Theme Park Reservation Requirements
Beginning with park visits on January 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for date based tickets. That means that when you are booking your 2024 package with a resort stay and tickets (and now dining), you will not need to add that extra step of making theme park reservations. Great news!! Reservations will still be required for some ticket-only options, but annual passholders will have “good-to-go days” where a reservation will not be required based on capacity and black out dates.
Disney Dining Plans Return
The most exciting announcement today was the return of the Disney Dining Plan. With the release of 2024 Walt Disney World vacation packages, guests with stays beginning January 9, 2024 will be able to add a dining plan to their package. Two options will be returning: The Quick Service Dining Plan and the Disney Dining Plan. For those of you who have been waiting for the return of this poplar package features, the TIME IS NOW!!!
Extra Hours for Resort Guests
One popular perk that we’ve seen over the last three years for resort guests is the ability for resort guests to enter the theme parks 30 minutes prior to non resort guests. Great news- this perk will continue for 2024 Walt Disney World vacation packages. Also remaining is the perk for deluxe resort guests to have extra hour access to select theme parks on select nights.
Disney Genie + Service Changes Ahead
A little more vague was the announcement out of Disney that they are working on ways to help guests plan ahead for Disney Genie + and Individual Lightning Lane selections prior to their visit. Sounds to us like a return of some features of the old FastPass system that were so beloved. What do you think?
