The 5 Most Romantic Resorts in Walt Disney World

Welcome back, Mousekefriends!  We have a theme for this month and we’re sticking to it!  First was dessert dates, then engagements and now…romantic stays.  We are listing our picks for the TOP 5 Romantic Resorts on Disney property.  We are edging away from Disney whimsy and fantasy and getting bougie.  Sparks will fly.  Not the Figment kind.

Don’t have time to read the blog today?  NO PROBLEM! Listen to our MouskeMoms Podcast where we highlight these 5 most romantic Disney resorts.

Contact our agency, Kingdom and Cruise Travel, so we can help you book a romantic Disney getaway!

But first, the Mouseke-cocktail

But first, the Mouseke-cocktail.  We are heading to the Italy Pavilion in Epcot and tucking ourselves in a cozy corner of Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar with a glass of premium Italian wine right by the fireplace (it may be 95 degrees out but this fire symbolizes the love we have burning inside. Just go with it).  They have over 200 Italian wines, small plates, Tuscan wine cellar decor and…the fireplace.  That’s Amore.  chEARS! Saluti!

On with the countdown…

Number 5: Disney’s Coronado Spring Gran Destino Tower

Not Vegas. We swear.

This moderate resort (the only moderate on our list) is disguised as a deluxe resort.  There is no doubt that when you enter the two story lobby and catch a glimpse of these views, you have entered a romantic paradise.

How is this moderate? The gorgeous and sleek two-story lobby evokes Moorish Spain with nods to Mexican and Southwest culture.

Take a stroll around the resort along the water and over the footpath bridges that connect its different sections.  MOUSKETIP: Book a standard view room and request a high floor so you can watch the fireworks from bed (where you will mostly just be sleeping. wink).  Dine on tapas, seafood and steak at the luxurious Toledo, a unique rooftop dining experience with sweeping views.  Have we sold you on romance yet?

Sample flavors from the on-stage tapas kitchen and Spanish wine selected by a Master Sommelier at Toledo!

Number 4: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Switching gears to another culture and region, the African Savannah!  Have you and your loved one ever dreamed of going on safari?  Disney nailed it, Mousekefriends.  This is as close as it gets to the real deal.  Imagine waking up in the morning to this view, sitting on your balcony, sipping a coffee, and admiring the peaceful setting.  “It’s a Small World” is worlds away from this slice of serenity.

Mousketip: Don’t plan a romantic vacation here unless you select the Savannah view room category! In fact, don’t book the entry level room at any of these resorts for a romantic getaway.  Nicer rooms mean more fireworks. wink again.

You can find romantic spaces throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, including in this grand lobby with dimly lit, cozy seating areas.

Outside the room, this sprawling resort offers many inviting spaces for a romantic stroll or a unique dining experience.  Grab a cocktail from the pool bar, Maji, in Kidani Village and take a stroll by the Savannah Overlook.  Enjoy happy hour at a high-top seat at the Sanaa restaurant lounge, where you can savor a unique African wine and exotic Indian-influenced small plates.   Finally, in the evening, settle into a rocking chair by one of the campfires.  Here we go again.  Too hot for a fire?  Never.  Keep it sizzling.

Number 3: Disney’s Yacht Club

Disney’s Yacht Club, a nauti-chic resort (Did we just make up that style name? Maybe!) on Crescent Lake scores high on our list for romantic spots to stay on Disney property.

Doing a 180 here to a very different resort style, but we still have 360 degrees of romance!  This Disney Resort evokes Nantucket vibes in every detail.  The dark hardwoods, navy blues, and nautical touches have you feeling like you’re on a yacht and might rub elbows with JFK Junior (if he were still among us *quick sign of the cross).  We love this resort and we are recommending it over Beach Club as the romantic spot on Crescent Lake!  Yacht Club rooms are *chef’s kiss!  We have another balcony opportunity here, this time with a stunning water view both day and night.

Not New England. But it could be. Views from Disney’s Yacht Club balconies!

Dine in the Yachtsman Steakhouse on grain-fed beef aged in-house.  Then take a stroll along this quieter side of Crescent Lake.  Last, retire to your balcony to enjoy the nighttime views of lights reflecting on the water.  You’re not sailing away, but pretty darn close.

Number 2: Disney’s Riviera

You’ve arrived at the Riviera, an elegant deluxe resort on the Skyliner with water views and European touches throughout.

A resort with European flair and a mix of modern and classic decor, Disney’s Riviera boasts luxury around every corner.  Are we even in Disney?  Is this even the US? Maybe if you stare long enough at one of the intricate mosaics in the lobbies (Tangled and Peter Pan themed) , you’ll be jolted back to Disney nostalgia for a split second.  We love the rooms.  We LOVE Topolinos, and we love the potential for strolls around the water, including over by Caribbean Beach (in case you haven’t gotten in your steps at the parks).

Topolino’s Terrace outdoor seating has sweeping views of the resorts, fireworks, and lagoons.

We suggest making dinner reservations at Topolino’s! Enjoy the French and Italian cuisine, then sneak outside with a cocktail to this spot reminiscent of cliffside restaurants in Europe.  The views are stellar.  It’s quiet and romantic!

Riviera’s One Bedroom Villa room with splendid views is steeped in luxury!

Number 1: Disney’s Grand Floridian!

Sophisticated and elegant. Lavish and tranquil. Silly kids, Grand Floridian is for couples!

We have maxed out the romance meter with this one! Is anyone surprised this is our top choice?  We needed to include this stately, timeless, Victorian deluxe resort on the monorail because its features are bursting with romance and luxury.

Your romantic spot on the balcony overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon awaits.

We ran the risk of some of you thinking this resort is too stuffy for romance and we are here to prove you wrong (if we didn’t have you at stately, timeless and Victorian).  Let’s first take a look at the name: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and SPA!  It is currently the ONLY Disney resort with a spa.  ahem.  We rest our case. Couples massages are romantic and we recommend one here!

Furthermore, Disney’s Grand Floridian boasts the ONLY adult-exclusive restaurant on Disney property, Victoria and Albert’s.  Disney calls it “an epicurean odyssey.”  We believe Disney.  If you’re parting with that much of the contents of your wallet for fine cuisine, it’s guaranteed to be delicious and romantic.

We’re not even sure what this is, but it is exquisite, and we are ready for our dates to get this for us.

There is a reason why the wedding chapel is just a short stroll from the resort.  Disney’s Grand Floridian has won the romance triple crown: magnificent setting, adult-only dining AND spa experiences.  Did you hear the mic drop, Mousekefriends?

Thanks for coming on this journey with us exploring the romantic resorts around Disney World!  Give a listen to the podcast where we talk about some other resorts that could have made the list!  Can you guess which ones?
